WINNIPEG, MB., August 5, 2021 – The Winnipeg Football Club is aware of the fire risk posed by current dry weather conditions in Manitoba. As such, the Bombers have worked closely with the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) to ensure all pyrotechnics displays planned for today’s home opener are permitted under the current city-wide fire ban, which is in effect until August 11, 2021.
Any effects used during the pre-game are designed for safe indoor use within close proximity, use little fuel, and will dissipate well before they reach the ground. Effects will be deployed by qualified technicians. There will be no fireworks, as they are banned under the current fire ban.
